Never got the tool to turn the nut on the bullet button. Stripped the tool. Smith and Wesson had used a very strong loctite glue. Even the gunsmith could not heat the nut to loosen the glue. He ended up pushing the button through the housing, then cutting the bolt on the other side of the housing. No more bullet button.

Idk
I recently moved from California to North Dakota and wanted to “fix”my AR. I had the bullet button on my ar from Cali. Unfortunately I was used to the m4 in the usmc and having the bullet button sucks. Got to a state where they don’t even have tools for such an issue proved to piss me off. I literally had to order one from the same state that implements the issue. The tool worked great. Took second. Thanks Cali, leave and still Have issues.

CA Compliance Mod completion
Bullet button nut was possibly fastened with thread locker. Had to use vice grip pliers to get leverage on the fastener to break it loose and remove. Tool was damage at the contact point with the pliers, but the mating teeth to the nut seemed to hold up and is possibly good for a couple more uses on my next California compliant AR's.
